Much like Minnie Pearl's price tag hanging off of her hat, these ceramic gems need to be displayed prominently to show off one's affluence. It makes the neighbors jealous. Then again, it feeds the urge to break one of the 10 Commandments 'Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's crap.' Or words to that effect. (apologies for the minor blasphemy, Pastor) LL February 27, 2016 at 11:30 am - Reply The moral of the story is that you shouldn't ever throw away things that can be successfully re-purposed. LSP February 27, 2016 at 1:16 pm - Reply "Ceramic gems" — I like that, and good scriptural advice. LSP February 27, 2016 at 1:19 pm - Reply I think some things shouldn't be thrown away, LL. That old bath might make a useful horse trough. But some things should be tossed, like that Old Boot that's good for nothing but to be thrown on the burn pile. LL February 27, 2016 at 5:08 pm - Reply There's a lot of scum that would float up if you tossed the old boot in a pond. Mattexian February 27, 2016 at 7:20 pm - Reply All else fails, you can repurpose them into baptismal fonts, like the cowboy churches do. (Tho as I muttered before, they seem to confuse baptizing with bathing, thinking it something to do regularly, whether one needs it or not.) LSP February 27, 2016 at 7:50 pm - Reply It's a nasty Old Boot, LL, that's for sure. LSP February 27, 2016 at 7:51 pm - Reply Might come in handy for a baptism in the field, Mattexian. Good call. Brighid February 28, 2016 at 4:17 am - Reply Those ol deep claw foot tubs are worth more $$$ to remodelers than you would think… A friend has two on her back patio for summer evening soaking with wine!
